Newcastle MND Care Centre Memorial Service

The second annual Memorial Service was held in Jesmond, Newcastle on Sunday 22 January. Over a hundred family and friends gathered to remember both loved ones who had died recently, and also those who have died in the past few years.

A service of hymns and readings culminated in the lighting of candles by members of the families and the blessing of memory cards.

It was a very poignant but uplifting afternoon, and when everyone was invited after the service for tea and cakes, families mingled together with other relatives and staff from the Centre and all agreed that this was a very important way of collectively remembering those who had been affected by MND.

Thanks must go to the members of the Tyne and Wear Branch and the Northumberland fund-raising group for providing the delicious refreshments after the service.
