Award for Sister Yvette Hodson, Newcastle MND CentreSister Yvette Hodson has been presented with an "Extra Mile" award by the MND Association.
The Association understands what a difference exceptional Health and Social Care Professionals can make to the life of anyone living with MND. So it has created an award scheme to celebrate these special people who have gone the 'extra mile'. Sister Yvette is one of the specialist nurses at the Newcastle MND Centre. She was nominated for the award by Branch member Liz Shipley. Liz wrote: "Nothing is too much trouble for her. I needed advice on PEG feeding and Yvette came out the next day and demonstrated PEG feeding to my new carers and friends. As a result, a small army of people are able to help feed me when appropriate. "An already great team has been boosted by Yvette’s dedication and great humour. Not only a nurse but friend to people with MND who attend Tim Williams’ excellent clinic." Yvette has featured on this website before. In September 2006 she successfully completed the C2C cycle ride across England from Whitehaven to Sunderland, part of a team that raised £750 for MND Centre funds. To read about it again, click here.
